From the Chairman’s Desk

It is hard to believe we have completed the first quarter of the year already! The CMA working groups are once again at work collaborating with SABS. Although progress is slow, this month has seen some positive moves forward.
As Chairman, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the working groups, they know who they are, for the tireless effort and dedication they put into ensuring the excellence of belt conveying in southern Africa. These hours are, of course, in addition to their already demanding jobs.

Education and training

On the education and training front, we recently ran a very successful 3-day Conveyor Certificate course, expertly delivered by Alan Exton. The candidates who attended provided excellent reviews, reflecting the quality of the training received.
The month of May will see our second 6-day Diploma course of the year. There are still some places available, so please do not delay in registering. Also taking place in May is our 3-day Chute Seminar, which is only offered once a year, so make sure you do not miss out. All information is available on our website https://www.cmasa.co.za/Education-and-Training.
Our annual CMA members’ golf day is coming up on the 17th of April and is already fully booked. This event is always a wonderful opportunity for our members to network in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
