What an eventful year the CMA has had! We celebrated the CMA 50th Anniversary with a dinner and show appropriately named 50 Carat Gold at the Barnyard Theatre recently and Beltcon 21 held in August was a great success. The bulk materials handling industry were treated to some excellent papers presented by well renowned speakers from around the world. Planning for Beltcon 22 starts right now, so something to look forward to in 2025.
Working Groups continue to strive to elevate the standard of information available to the industry and training programmes have been very active during the year. We had two new Directors join the team at the Annual General Meeting and the Board is highly motivated to work across all portfolios in the promotion of excellence of belt conveying in southern Africa. Membership is growing and the industry is seeing good recovery after the slow-down that occurred during the pandemic.
I would like to take this opportunity of wishing everyone a happy festive holiday season and looking forward to a new year with everyone returning safe and sound and well rested.
