As always, education and training remains one of the CMA’s top priorities. As part of our focus on upskilling, we are running the following two courses this year: Bulk Handling Chute Seminar (13 – 15 May 2025) and the Diploma in Design & Operations of Belt Conveyors (5 – 12 May and 6 – 13 October 2025).
The Chute Seminar format has been updated. There are two full days of virtual lectures by Dr Dusan Ilic of the University of Newscastle, Australia, and one day of lectures in practical chute design and DEM simulation; Combination of practical considerations, theory and use of technology (DEM).
The Diploma in Design & Operations of Belt Conveyors is an intensive course on how conveyors operate and how their various components are designed. Features include a thorough understanding of all the components of a conveyor, solving common problems, avoiding pitfalls, idler and pulley selection, catalogue selection of motors, reducers, and couplings with the main emphasis on the design of the conveyor system.
